PROGEOGRAPHER PROGRAM -TIMELINE
April 1, 2009: Online course begins with readings and preparation for the
summer. This course continues after the summer and is completed by January,
2010.
July 9: Land at Denver Airport in the morning to drive to Grand Junction in
vans; or land at Grand Junction in the evening (be sure to make the return trip
from Denver International). We use a KOA campground for the night of July 9
(your cost). They have tent spaces and cabins. You can also stay at any nearby
hotel.
July 10-12: River camping. All gear and food provided (meals are prepared by
river guides), except personal clothing, tents, and sleeping bags (you can rent
these from the outfitter in advance).
July 13-14: The program includes the cost of two nights at a motel in Grand
Junction (meals provided too) while we study urban geography in the city.
July 14-23: The program provides rustic rooms in cabins (with some bunk beds and
showers) and meals until 5pm on July 23.
July 23: Transportation is provided to Denver International Airport and nearby
hotels, arriving in the area by 7pm. You are on your own after that.
To complete the summer courses: All assignments will be due with the instructors
on August 24th.
To complete the certificate: an online (Blackboard delivery) capstone course
begins in April 2009 and ends in January, 2010.
