Locations: The lecture will be held at the UNC campus in Candelaria. The
field trip will begin and end near Grand Junction, Colorado.

Enrollment is done on a first come,
first serve basis for remaining space. Tuition charges are the same
for in-state and out-of-state students!

Dropping
the class: You can drop the class up until May 1. It is your
responsibility to contact the Office of Extended Studies at

This
course is open to students and teachers. Our
study site can be seen in topographic map form and in Color Infrared Photo
form. Paddle from Fruita Colorado to the Westwater Utah
ranger station on the Colorado River on this fully outfitted trip
through Horsethief and Ruby Canyons. Learn about the river environment
and about river issues. No paddling experience is needed. We will
practice geographic field skills and develop field studies. The
outfitter (Centennial Canoe) will supply all canoes, group equipment,
meals, and canoe instruction prior to the trip. You are responsible
for your transportation to the Colorado River and back.
